2) Q ~ Why am I having trouble loading my images?
Most hosting companies will only allow certain images onto their servers. We recommend that you use these guidelines when uploading.
- Only use jpg, jpeg, png, gif image formats
- Make sure all images are 2 megabytes, (2000 x 2000 pixels), or smaller.
- Keep file name simple and short, (like: baby-photo.jpg).
- Make sure there are no spaces, commas, apostrophes or symbols, (most servers will not accept those in a file name). Only use letters, (abc), numbers, (123), dashes or underscore, ( - _ ).
- baby-photo.jpg
- OilPainting-TexasHillCountry-2012.jpg
- family_trip_new_york-013.png
Good Names:
- babys first tooth.jpg (spaces)
- large24x36_oil-painting-on-wood-panel-in-the-Texas-Hill-Country-june-21-2012-00042.jpg (too long)
- Bob's_trip_to_NewYork,_paris,_&_Rome_22/04/2009.png (' , & / not allowed)
Bad Names:
Argument: But Facebook let's me upload any size and file name I want.
Answer: Facebook and other large social sites don't use hosting companies, so they made their servers accept a wider range of image sizes and names. Most hosting companies have to set limits. These limits will vary from company to company.
BACK TO TOP3) Q ~ Why are some of my email being sent back when I send out bulk mail to members?
There are different reasons for email being sent back to you as undeliverable. The email it self will tell you why it was sent back, but the words being used are not always easy to understand.
-
Undeliverable Reasons:
- The email address was entered wrong in the profile.
- The owner got a new email address and didn't update their profile.
- You sent out more email than what your hosting company allows.
- You have been marked as a spammer.
Solutions:
If a member's email continues to get sent back to you, contact them and ask them to update
their email address. If it is an email from the Guest List then you can call them and ask if they
what to remain on your list, or you can just delete them.
If you are sending out email to 200-250 members at a time, you may be in violation of your hosting companies email policy. Most hosts have a limit to how much you can send out an hour and how much you can send out in a day. 200-250 per hour and up to 2,000 a day is a typical industry limit.
If you are getting back all the mail you sent out then you may have been labeled a spammer by your hosting company. You will need to contact them right-a-way. Let them know that you only send out to members and guest that wanted to be on your list, and also let them know that every email sent to a guest has an opt-out link at the bottom of the message.
BACK TO TOP4) Q ~ Can I upload PDF files?
Yes you can. Click on the admin navigational link "Media". There you can create media galleries just like an image gallery, but with the ability to upload PDF, video, and audio files.
These file types have been successfully uploaded and downloaded using this program.
- Video Files: mp4, mpg, mov, wmv, avi
- Audio Files: mp3, wav
- Text Files: pdf, txt, Word doc
- Image Files: png
NOTE: If file names are too long or contain forbidden characters, files may not upload or play. There may also be a need for a browser plugin to play files.
BACK TO TOPThe navigational bar is a group of links at the top of every page on the front end of your site. Visitors use them to navigate your pages.
At this time, it's only safe for a website professional to change the order of these links. For a small fee VAM Software can do that for you.
- Your internet provider, (AT&T, Verizon, Time Warner, etc.), could be slow..
- Your modem/router could be having some problems.
- The hosting company that your site is with may have slow server issues.
Yes, for an extra fee we can add a custom feature to your site.

9) Q ~ How secure is my website?
There are all sorts of evil programs out there trying to do harm to your website. The security of your site depends on three groups doing their jobs correctly, the website designer, the hosting provider, and you the site owner.
- As the builders, we have added many security measures to keep your site safe from attacks.
- Most likely the hosting company that your site is with also has provided security.
- You, the site owner, will need to protect yourself by creating strong passwords for you and your administrators.
Don't make it easy for hackers by using a weak password. This site is able to handle a wide range a of characters, so your password could look something like this: 8*Ux)o(xU*8
